From introducing broker to your own brokerage: what actually changes

IBs already own the hard part, the traders, but not the brand, the client data or the full spread. Moving to your own brokerage gives you all three, in exchange for support, risk, licensing and month-end. The article lays out what changes, what stays the same, three entry points (White Label Lite, Full White Label, Broker-in-a-Box) and four questions to answer before switching, then positions Reltrix as the one technology partner behind the whole stack.

You already have the hard part: the traders.

What you don't have is your name on the screen. That one detail decides what you earn, who the client belongs to, and what happens to your business the day your broker changes the terms.

Here is what actually changes when the brokerage is yours.

IB vs your own brokerage: the short version

  • You keep your traders, your community, your marketing. Nothing to rebuild.
  • You gain your brand on every screen, the client data, and the full spread instead of a rebate.
  • You take on support, risk, licensing and month-end. That is the real cost of the move.

What an IB owns today

You own the relationship up to the login page. After that:

  • Every screen carries someone else's logo.
  • The account lives in their CRM. The deposit goes to their payment provider.
  • They set the spread, the swap, the minimum deposit. You get a rebate per lot.
  • If they widen spreads, your traders blame you. If they close a region, the clients were never yours to take anywhere.

The IB model isn't wrong. Plenty of our clients started there. But be clear about what it is: you are renting a brand, and the rent is most of the margin.

What changes

The brand. Your logo on the platform, the client portal, the welcome email, the app. Nobody else's name anywhere.

The client. Onboarding, accounts and deposits run through your CRM. The data is yours. Change provider later and the clients come with you.

The money. You stop earning a slice of the spread and start earning the spread. Your costs change too: liquidity, technology, payments, people. More margin per lot, and more to plan for.

The responsibility. Support, risk, licence, reconciliation. When something breaks at 2am before the Asia open, it is your phone that rings. A good technology partner carries a lot of that weight. The accountability stays with you.

If the last one worried you more than the third one excited you, stay an IB for now. If it was the other way round, keep reading.

What stays the same

Your traders. Your Telegram group. Your signals, your education, your way of talking to people.

The funnel doesn't change. The destination does: from a referral link to a platform with your name on it.

Three ways in

You don't have to become a fully licensed broker on day one. Pick the step that matches how much you want to run yourself.

White Label Lite. The trading platform. Everything else stays as it is today. For iBs taking the first step.

Full White Label. Platform, CRM and client portal, back office. For academies and IBs ready to own the client.

Broker-in-a-Box. The whole stack: platform, CRM, back office, order management, MT4 Bridge, MT5 Gateway. Invest Trader, Prop Trading and AI Trader when you want them. For people who have decided they are building a brokerage.

Most of our IB and academy clients start at Lite or Full and move up. On one stack, moving up means switching modules on, not migrating to a new provider.

Four questions before you switch

We ask every IB these in the first call. Answer them and you are ready.

  • Where does the liquidity come from, and who holds the risk? Pass every trade to a liquidity provider, run your own book, or mix. This sets your margin and your capital before it sets your technology.
  • What licence do you need where your traders are? Talk to a lawyer who knows your markets before you talk to anyone about platforms. We'll tell you what the technology does. We are not your regulator.
  • Who answers the support ticket at 2am? Your traders expect big-broker response times. Decide now: your team, an outsourced desk, or your technology partner, and what each costs.
  • How many providers will you manage? Five vendors means five contracts, five support queues, and nobody who owns the gap between them. Most people skip this question. It decides whether year two is spent growing or spent on integration calls.

One technology partner. One integrated stack.

Reltrix was built for question four.

Web Trader, CRM and Client Portal, back office, order management, MT4 Bridge and MT5 Gateway, from one partner, designed to work together. Add Invest Trader for copy trading, PAMM and MAM. Add Prop Trading to run challenges under your brand. Add AI Trader to give your traders market analysis inside your platform. Compatible with MT5.

Your name on every screen. Your traders in your CRM. Your economics, not a rebate.
